Volunteer at the market
Volunteering is an excellent opportunity to become more involved in the market and to support our local farmers.  We have many opportunities to volunteer on-site and behind the scenes.

At the market.
  • Help with Saturday setup.
  • Help with Saturday tear down.
  • Run the Market Information Booth.
  • Coordinate an event such as Meet the Candidates, Antique Tractors, or Oktoberfest.
  • Present a gardening demonstration or kids' activitiy.
  • Deliver and return market wagons, tables, and signs.
  • Sweep the parking lot before the market.

Behind the scenes.
  • Schedule entertainment - Elvis, fiddlers, square dancers.
  • Schedule adult and kid activities - composting, gardent boxes, bugs in the garden, leaf stamps.
  • Promote our food stamps program with local churches, food bank, etc.
  • Write an article for Kuna Melba News.

If you are interested in volunteering at the market, please contact Cheryl McCord at 922-5113.

Tractors, iris, produce and pickling
All tractor owners are invited to bring their tractors to the Market on Saturday for a show of tractors old and new, big and small, and toy or workhorse. A free lunch will be given to each person who brings a tractor.

Edna Rosenbaum of Black Cat Iris Nursery will be selling iris rhizomes at the Market. She is retiring her business and digging nearly 50 varieties of iris from her garden. There will also be demonstrations on iris care.

After the Market - Corn and Pickle Festival at Vogel Farms. From 1 – 6 pm see live demonstrations for making dill pickles and bread and butter pickles. Also learn how to freeze corn and make blackberry freezer jam and basil pesto. Pick up fresh ingredients for your own pickling and preserving.
Vendors
Our vendors sell fresh, locally grown produce, select baked goods, and a few vendor-made crafts.

If you are interested in being a vendor at the market, please contact Cheryl McCord at 922-5113.  Click on the "Vendor Sign-Up" link for helpful information and an application form.

Accepting Food Stamps
As a part of its mission to make fresh, local produce and food available to more families, the Kuna Farmers Market accepts the Idaho Quest Card for food stamp purchases.
