Fresh, healthy produce is not the only thing you will find at the Farmers Market in Kuna. Garden flora in brilliant colors and artistic arrangements adds a touch of splendor to the Market.

One artisan of beautiful flora at the Market, a truly gracious and knowledgeable gardener, is Edna Rosenbaum from Black Cat Iris Nursery. Her iris selection is nothing but extraordinary, including a wide selection of award-winning iris varieties. The plants are vigorous and sure to thrive with a little love and care.

Edna brings a sampling of iris blooms to the Market and she encourages customers to come to her garden to see the wide range of colors. She takes orders and then digs the rhizomes in July or August. Summer is the best time for transplant because the rhizome is fully nourished after blooming.

As a member of Pollen Daubers Iris Society, Edna was the Best of the Show winner in 2003 at the annual spring show. Edna is also recognized for her artistic arrangements. She creates bouquets for the Market with whatever is in season. Her garden always has something blooming from the first daffodils in early spring until frost hits the last dahlias and gladiolas in the fall. Come visit Edna at the Kuna Farmers Market or call her at 922-4728.

Market hours are from 9 am to 12 noon every Saturday through October 27. The location is at Sandstone Plaza at the west end of Main Street in downtown Kuna.
