Local families are hosting visitors from Europe who are on a six-week tour of US cities as a part of the German Marshall Memorial Fellowship exchange program. This year’s visitors are from Spain, France, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, and Greece.

Their objective while in the Treasure Valley is to learn about American family values, social and political issues and agricultural practices. They are also eager to share information on their home countries and lifestyles.

One of the visitors, Ilias Antoniou, will be our guest for the weekend and will be at the Market on Saturday. He is from Athens, Greece, and is active in political affairs in Greece and the European Union. He has also led initiatives to promote youth involvement in political processes and debate.

Ilas has a degree in Geology from Athens University and is pursuing a master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems.

Mayor Dowdy will be at the Market on Saturday to welcome Ilias and, perhaps, the two of them can compare notes on current governmental issues.

Stop by the market and chat with our special guest. We welcome our newest vendor, Clio and Nora Gourmet Biscotti.
