Jeri Kitchens took overall honors in the Tomato Tasting Contest at the Kuna Farmers
Market last Saturday with her Sun-Gold Cherry tomato. Those who tasted it commented
on its intensely sweet flavor. Jeri also won the Slicer category with the Red October
variety that has an excellent flavor, and the tomatoes keep well into November and
December. The Roma category was won by Karen Fleming of Fancy Pickins from the Farmers
Market. Dwight and Debi Buck of Bucks’ Barnyard entered the winning Grape tomato.
They are also vendors at the Market.
The Market hours are 9 am to noon. The Market location is at Sandstone Plaza at
