The newest item at the Kuna Farmers Market is Kaveman Flapjack mix. Karen Fleming
created this delicious pancake mix using whole kernels of Idaho wheat instead of
flour. Karen found a select grain grown by a wheat farmer in Sublet, Idaho. She
tested different ingredient combinations until she came up with the recipe for light,
fluffy pancakes that bring out the wonderful nutty flavor of the wheat. Most interestingly,
this quick and easy recipe is made in the blender. Come sample the Kaveman Flapjacks
and pick up a packet for Fathers Day breakfast.
Another new item at the Market is lamb summer sausage from Bucks’ Barnyard.
Tempt father with other special treats at the Market such as fruit pies, Knutty
Knots, breakfast sandwiches, and many delicious cookies.
Going fishing? Ben and Isaac Summers now have night crawlers at the Market.
The spring greens are thriving in the cool, rainy weather over the past several
weeks. Now at the Market are sugar snap peas, snow peas, baby Bok Choy, kale, spinach,
lettuce, beets, radishes, and green onions.
The Market is held Saturdays from 9 am to 12 noon at Sandstone Plaza in Kuna at
the west end of Main Street. For more information, contact Cheryl McCord at 922-5113
