The Kuna Farmers Market offers extraordinary menu ideas for this year’s July 4th
picnic.
Ingredients are extraordinarily fresh. Produce and baked goods arrive at the Market
within a few hours of being picked or baked. Meats are grown and processed locally.
The distinct and out-of the-ordinary flavors of these items will liven up picnic
plates and probably disappear quickly.
Our vendors, Bucks’ Barnyard, Champie Ranch, Stephanie’s Goodies, Fancy Pickins,
and Desert Gourmet bring you this special selection for 4th of July weekend dining.
- Lamb burger or lamb chorizos
- Baby vegetables for grilling – zucchini, carrots, onions
- Country Buckwheat burger buns
- Sourdough herb sandwich rolls
- Potato rolls, herb bread, soft pretzels
- Spicy Mustard and Dill or Sweet Relish to top off the grilled lamb
- Tender lettuce, spinach, peas and radishes for salad
- French tarragon, parsley, oregano and chives for adding to salad or mixing into
dressings
- Cherries for tasty finger snacks
- Pies for dessert – apple, berry and cherry
- Cookies, sticky buns and moist fruit breads for sweet treats
Linda Reece will also be displaying her line of hand sewn and crocheted children’s
clothing.
Navajo Willow Farm, Cabalo’s Orchard and Gardens, and Vogel Farms will not be at
this week’s Market.
Next Week, July 11 - Pollen Daubers Iris Club – iris rhizome sale and demonstration
The Market is held Saturdays from 9 am to 12 noon at Sandstone Plaza in Kuna at
the west end of Main Street. For more information, contact Cheryl McCord at 922-5113
