Last Saturday the Kuna Farmers Market celebrated the end of the season on sunny, festive note. The Oktoberfest celebration featured German foods, music, and dancing. We also had Meet the Candidates for Kuna City Council. Thank you to the candidates for participating and the opportunity to get to know you.

To all of those who helped make the Market season a success, thank you.

Thank you to all of our customers for your tremendous support. We appreciate that the community recognizes the high quality of the fresh foods from our vendors and the significance of maintaining a local food supply.

Thank you to the crafters who bring creative inspiration to us all.

Thanks also go to the community groups who provided entertainment and educational demonstrations and shared their passions with others.

The Fall season brings the opportunity to visit the farms of some of our Market vendors.

Cabalo’s Orchard and Gardens opens the Pumpkin Patch on October 3. Take a free hayride to the pumpkin patch, search for the perfect Jack ‘O Lantern pumpkin, and pick apples in the orchard. The farm stand will be stocked with tomatoes and melons. Once the frost hits, the pie pumpkins and winter squash will be at their best. Many items for Fall decorating are available including Indian corn, gourds, mini straw bales, corn stalks, and pumpkin carving tools and patterns.

Cabalo’s are open October 3-31, Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm and Sundays 12 to 6 pm. Call 922-3301 for more information.

Vogel Farms will hold “Christmas on the Farm” every Saturday from November 21 through December 19. Hours will be 10:30 am to 2 pm. Vogels will be serving their delicious breakfast sandwiches. All of the shops of their Country Market will be open.

Vogel’s are selling free-range, fresh, never-frozen turkeys. Place your order now for pickup on November 21 at Vogel Farms. For more information call Vogel’s at 466-6928.

The Market is held Saturdays from 9 am to 12 noon at Sandstone Plaza in Kuna at the west end of Main Street. For more information, contact Cheryl McCord at 922-5113 or visit the website at www.KunaFarmersMarket.com.
